Turn a Pet Photo into a Funny Mugshot with GPT Image 2.5

Make a funny pet mugshot from a cat photo with GPT Image 2.5. Includes the tested prompt, front-and-profile result, and checks for fur markings and text.

The suspect looks unimpressed. The charge is midnight snack theft. An AI pet mugshot generator turns a familiar pet expression into the joke, while a short placard supplies the story.

Our example uses a calico-cat reference and asks for a front portrait beside a profile. The finished poster is fictional comedy, with invented case details rather than an imitation of a real police record.

Tested workflow

One reference image → GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst → pet mugshot comedy.

Use fur markings as the identity checklist

Start with a clear, well-lit pet photograph. The synthetic reference here has an orange ear patch, a dark patch near one eye, a white muzzle and chest, and green eyes. Those visible markings are more useful preservation instructions than a generic request for “the same cat.”

Our reference was generated for this demonstration; no real person, pet owner or location is being represented as the subject of a real event. You can use your own suitable photo or another reference you are authorized to edit.

Reproduce the selected result in WeShop

Open WeShop’s GPT Image generator, attach the reference through the image upload control, and select GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst. The source must actually be attached: describing it in words alone would create a different task.

The table reports the requested aspect ratio and the returned dimensions separately. The portrait outputs in this set do not have to be an exact mathematical 4:5 crop. These runs were made on October 20, 2026, with one result per prompt; they do not measure repeat-run reliability.

Ask for two views in one finished layout

Specify a front panel and a profile panel, a neutral line background and a placard at the bottom. Keeping the layout inside one image makes a simple shareable poster, but the side view is newly invented from a single reference.

Write a small fictional charge

Use one name, one comic charge and one case number. Avoid long paragraphs that become tiny or distorted. Our prompt uses MILO, MIDNIGHT SNACK THEFT and CASE 004; all three are invented details you can replace for your own pet.

Copy the tested midnight snack suspect prompt

Edit image 1 into a clearly humorous fictional pet mugshot poster. Keep the same recognizable calico cat, orange left ear patch, black right-eye patch, white muzzle and chest, green eyes and grumpy expression. Create two adjacent photo panels of that same cat: a front portrait on the left and a gentle right-facing profile on the right, against a simple neutral height-chart background with unlabeled horizontal lines. No people or restraints, cat is comfortable. Along the bottom place a clean placard with exactly these text lines: SUSPECT: MILO; CHARGE: MIDNIGHT SNACK THEFT; CASE 004. Use bold readable lettering, balanced layout, comedy not real police documentation. No official seals, real agency names, extra text, injury or watermark.

Generate one image, open the result at full size, and compare it with the attached source. The right-hand tool loads this selected example with its actual reference, prompt and settings. You can try it directly using the tool on the right.

What the actual output shows

The selected poster shows front and side views above a placard reading SUSPECT: MILO, CHARGE: MIDNIGHT SNACK THEFT and CASE 004. The front view retains a recognizable calico face and white chest.

The cat is upright and unrestrained. The profile supplies a plausible new angle, but it cannot verify what the unseen side of a real pet actually looks like.

Check the details before you share

Compare the front-view patches with your source and proofread every placard line. A single image does not contain a complete view of an animal, so do not describe the generated profile as documentary reconstruction. Change the joke rather than adding distress or restraints.

If a detail needs correction, return to the source or attach the selected result for a clearly scoped revision. State exactly what should change and what must remain. That correction path is workflow guidance; we are not presenting an untested follow-up as a successful result.

Pair the poster with the evidence

Use the original pet photo as the first slide and the fictional mugshot as the second. A separate real photo of an empty treat bag can be the third if you already have one; it was not generated or tested in this example. The caption should make the snack-theft premise clear.

Suggested caption:

SUSPECT: MILO CHARGE: MIDNIGHT SNACK THEFT The defendant has requested more snacks. Fictional AI pet poster. What is your pet guilty of?
